Wenvoe Court on Cowbridge Road West, Ely, is located opposite Western Cemetery, Ely Cardiff.
Originally a Café frequented by travellers far and wide, the building was converted into a hotel. Grays hotel was very popular with visitors to Cardiff and an ideal venue for the smaller wedding party.
In 1999 James Summers funeral directors converted the hotel into a funeral home.
A service to dedicate the funeral home and chapel, was held on the 19th July 1999, led by the Venerable W.P.Thomas, Vicar, Archdeacon of Llandaff and supported by other clergy from various denominations.
On 24th July 1999, the funeral home was officially opened by Mr Rhodri Morgan, at the time Leader of the Welsh assembly.
James Summers & Son served the needs of the community for 10 years, until 2009 when R J Larcombe took over the reigns and continues to provide the best service possible for the bereaved.
